WELCOME TO OUR CLASS
“Art challenges technology, technology inspires art.”
This idea comes from John Lasseter, the founder of Pixar studios and it is the reoccurring theme that runs through my Graphic Design class at Willow Springs Middle School. My name is Mrs. Voorhees and this class is an introduction for 7th and 8th grade students to see possibilities that come from combining technology and creativity.

Graphic Design is a course designed to introduce students to art elements and principles through a variety of current graphic programs in Adobe Suites. The course is separated into two semesters. The first semester has a main focus of the Elements of Design with a brief introduction to the Adobe Suites. Students explore graphic art career choices as well. Second semester focus is on the Principles of Design in Adobe Suites. These projects are more real-world projects. As you will see in the "Student Websites" tab, students finish the course by creating their own website portfolio.
